Mecca Bingo
When you are looking for the ultimate game of bingo to be had in the UK your journey will always end at Mecca. Since they first introduced Bingo to us in the 1960’s Mecca has be “the” place to find a game unlike any other. Their founder Eric Morley was known for being extremely charismatic and he leveraged his strengths to help his company grow. Well Eric was obviously doing something right because toady the Mecca brand is a part of the globally renowned Rank Group and boasts a very impressive 3 million members in 120 different real world clubs. This is a far cry from one man trying to introduce a brand new game. We owe Mr. Morley so much.
An interesting side note here is that Mecca chose to hang back on the whole online craze rather than being the first to jump on the band wagon. It seems as though their patience has paid off. Launched in 2005 we are told that Mecca Bingo is now working hard to set the standard both in the real world as well as the virtual one. We can’t wait to see what they came up with!
We should have expected first rate, this is Mecca after all, because that is what we got. Everything about Mecca Bingo shows an attention to the details that take a good game and make it great. The clearly marked navigation menu puts everything you could possibly want right at your finger tips. The site is easy on the eyes, with the design being very welcoming. Also it’s always a huge plus to play with a company that has the impeccable reputation that Mecca offers its guests.
When you break through the doors on your way to the action you may have to pull yourself away from some very alluring not so short cuts. You see, in the actual Bingo area, Mecca Bingo has set up advertising for their real world clubs. This is fine, but as the link is labeled “Mecca Bingo,” it is pretty confusing to those of us still hunting for the virtual version. Up to this point, Mecca has remained consistent in their dedication to offering a well organized hall. We think that things like this really detract form your overall experience and could prove frustrating to new players.
Once you get past this barrier however and see the games your frustration will be at an end. New and seasoned players alike can appreciate the fast and simple registration set-up as the whole process is over before you know it. Now it’s completely up to you as to where you want to go next. If you are like us then you like to try a small sample of several dishes before settling on a main course. For those of us out there who feel this way, Mecca offers freeplay on just about all the games. Since their custom software is non-downloading all you have to do is click and play. It really is that easy. The software is not as advanced as what you might find elsewhere, but it delivers on a great game of Bingo. As we cruised through different rooms and games we found pleasant conversation in many different chat rooms and some very impressive jackpot totals. As these factors are very important to any Bingo experience we never like to be disappointed in this area.
An area that we did find to be disappointing was trying to run the games on our Mac. They just wouldn’t work. This is strange seeing as how Mecca bluntly states that their software is supported by this type of system. When we went to customer service with this quandary we were given very detailed directions on how to get things moving. We took our time, step-by-step, and still were met with no success. In the end our agent confided to us that this is an ongoing problem that the company is trying to fix. We were also told that they were really hoping to get the software updated as soon as possible. So our hope is that by the time you make your way over there this little problem will be cleared up completely. And on a side not, the agents were great. If you find you’ve hit a snag, don’t hesitate to stop by. They really tried to help us, and were polite and useful the entire time.

We were rather upset to find the promotions pool at Mecca to be almost totally dry. The one bonus available is a $10 match on your first cash deposit. This is a nice gesture and does allow new players to try the 90-ball games before they invest their own money in it. Still though the whole set up just leaves us wishing for more.
With three million members and 120 separate halls you would expect that Mecca knows a thing or two about how to play Bingo. Whether you take part in one of their online games or one in a live hall you will quickly discover that they certainly do. A game played under their watch promises to be frisky and fun every time you play. If you don’t know what we are talking about by now, you’re just going to have to try it for yourself. After all, at the end of the day how can three million people be wrong?
